The retirement of Emmitt Smith

ESPN is reporting in two articles Emmitt Smith is planning to retire. Before we start publishing articles like this one, I'd wait for a definitive answer from the man himself. After all, Chris Mortensen had Favre retiring in 2003. In this case, Number 22 still has the final word:

"Did you see my year last year? Do you think I'm ready to retire?" he was quoted as saying.

Update: We should, however, take a moment to remember the career of Jim Jeffcoat, who was let go by the Cowboys as their defensive line coach on Friday bringing a 19 year association with Cowboys as an outstanding player and a coach to an end.
