UW System budget increases, more or less

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Lawmakers cut UW spending in budget
The Legislature's budget-writing panel Wednesday voted to cut more than $45 million from the UW System and student aid spending plans that were proposed by Gov. Jim Doyle, reducing suggested increases in aid and rejecting a cap on tuition increases.

GM Today (Waukesha Freeman): Lawmakers give UW System small increase, cut Doyle’s initiatives
The Legislature’s budget committee voted Wednesday to give the University of Wisconsin System $9 million more in state aid over the next two years - but millions less than what the governor proposed.
