Sounding off on the disgraced Archbishop Rembert Weakland

From today's sound off in the Waukesha Freeman: (ht: Spring City)
Wigderson column

I absolutely loved James Wigderson’s column in Thursday’s Freeman about the disgraced former archbishop of Milwaukee, Rembert Weakland. Right on, Jim! Someone needs to speak up about this man and his poor example to the Catholic community. There are still many confused souls out there because of him. What needs to be done now is to get his name removed from places of honor. My parish, St. William of Waukesha, has a Weakland Room in the Parish Vercelli House. They also often refer to his name when invoking blessings. These things are almost as shocking and scandalous as the things he admits to freely doing while archbishop of Milwaukee. For the purpose of healing, he and his name need to go.

For what it's worth, I would hope they would stop mentioning him once he moves to New Jersey since he will no longer be an archbishop-in-residence (ret.).
