The speech

Last night's speech was - by far - the most negative speech by a candidate accepting his party's nomination in the era of the modern political convention. And the attacks were personal, too. For a second I thought Obama was possessed by the mean-spirit of Ann Richards, except she was more funny.

Turns out the "new" politics are really just the old liberal politics with Andrew Jackson's vindictiveness, a better stage, and bad background music. It was delivered well, but really no better than a "red meat" speech for the local county party fundraising dinner.

I hope you enjoyed the show. Leni Riefenstahl couldn't have done it better.
