Bizness buys the park

Darryl Enriquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports on the endorsement of the proposed baseball stadium by the Waukesha Downtown Business Association.
By a 15-0 vote last night, a group of downtown merchants showed they believe a baseball team could improve the quality of life here and maybe bring a few more customers downtown.

Norm Bruce, association president, said about 35 people were on hand to hear presentations from Chad Bauer, part owner of the proposed team, and Mayor Larry Nelson, who presented financials that claim the city could receive more than $400,000 in cash and services from the team over a 10-year period.

In other Frame Park news, Waukesha resident Steve Edlund e-mailed that a group called Friends of Frame Park and the descendants of the contributor of land for Frame Park, Andrew Frame, will join in a "Preservation Stroll" Thursday evening 7 p.m. He didn't mention the location of the starting point.

It's at the baseball diamond, I'm told.
