Check your terms of service

(ht: Ol Broad) Captain's Quarters has the whole story of how the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Tampa caused the premature demise of a blog, Right Wing Howler, that ran excerpts from another blog, IMAO. CAIR successfully pressured Right Wing Howler's hosting service, Hostgator.com, to shut the blog down.

The IMAO post, "The Only Way to Ensure that Our Children Don't Have to Fight Terrorism Is to Kill All the Arab Children," could only have been taken seriously had it been written by Ann Coulter. It was written by IMAO's Frank J and clearly written to be reminiscent of Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal." (Coincidentally, Swift's article had been misunderstood with almost similar consequences.

I suspect more than a few bloggers will be checking their terms of service with their host service after this incident.
