Tip: meet the family before he pops the question

I gotta sympathize with the bride on this one.

A Waukesha woman is suing her prospective daughter-in-law for $1,100 in expenses the woman paid toward a wedding that never took place between her son and the would-be bride. Laurel Oberthaler of Waukesha filed suit May 6 against Jennifer Wilson, who was engaged to be married to Oberthaler’s son, Mike; the wedding was to take place Sept. 8 but was nixed last August, nine days after a hall was booked.

"I'm sorry but I just met your mother and the wedding is off."
