Abrahamson running

Well, give her credit. Even at her age, she's willing to rumble.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson has declared she will run for re-election next year.
Shirley Abrahamson, chief justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, said on Thursday morning she plans to run for re-election next year.

"I will run and will work hard," Abrahamson said emphatically in a meeting with the WISC-TV editorial board and WisPoltics.com.

"And I will mobilize the forces of good," she added with a wry smile.

Abrahamson said that she wasn't put off by the negative overtones of the just-concluded high court race between sitting Justice Louis Butler Burnett County Circuit Judge Michael Gableman. Gableman, who was backed by business interests and conservatives, won the election and is the first candidate to defeat a sitting justice in 41 years.
The "forces of good" (as she puts it) will certainly be mobilized to take her on and drive her finally from office.

And of course, I'll be fighting the darker part of my nature to use every age joke ever created. Besides, at her age she probably heard them all - in the original Phoenician. (I'm trying. Really I am.)
