Ronald Reagan Elementary School

Our friend Matt Weiss of the New Berlin School Board sends us this friendly reminder:
Ronald Reagan Elementary to open Dec. 2

New Berlin Public Schools will hold a grand opening
and ribbon cutting ceremony for Ronald Reagan
Elementary School, 4225 S. Calhoun Road on Saturday,
Dec. 2.

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., with a ribbon cutting
ceremony and program at 10 a.m. Guided tours will be
given.
We offer Weiss and the rest of the New Berlin School Board our congratulations on the completion of this project without raising the taxes in New Berlin. Serving on a school board is a thankless task, more so when the school board has had to take some courageous stands in order to keep the property tax levy in check. The New Berlin school board leads by example, and I believe President Ronald Reagan would be proud to have a school named after him in their district.

Update! Nice article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, although it would have been nice had they bothered to mention that the school was built without raising taxes, something unique in recent experience.
